Megan FedorOn April 15, 2012, twelve quartets came to SHAR to compete for a chance to prove that they are the best high school string quartet in Michigan. Michael Avsharian, Executive Vice President of SHAR Music; Kathleen Grimes, principal violist in the Ann Arbor Symphony; and Robert Reed, cello professor at Eastern Michigan University, acted as judges to help make this extremely difficult decision.



Divsion 1 Quartets:
 

  1. Paray String Quartet; DSO Civic Youth Ensemble
  2. Four Suite Strings; Grand Rapids Youth Symphony
  3. Fortuna Quartet; Okemos High School
  4. Phoenix Quartet; Phoenix Phest
  5. Calliope Quartet; Pioneer High School
  6. Blue Quartet; Dearborn Youth Symphony

  • Schubert String Quartet No. 13, D804
